Professor Rae Francis, Monash University Dean of the Arts Faculty had these kind 100 words on the subject…

‘An Arts degree is the perfect degree for anyone who wants to acquire general, flexible skills in research, analysis and communication.  Arts students are taught to THINK, not just absorb information, and are therefore useful to employers who need people who can think critically and show initiative. Because Arts students study people and societies, our knowledge can complement the skills of those from technical backgrounds to help find solutions to the big problems that confront the world today. An Arts degree also offers students an unparalleled opportunity to explore a range of fascinating subjects in a myriad of combinations. It gives you the chance to find out not just about human society, but also about yourself.’

Coke Side of Arts

This guy has done pretty well, if this is what you’d call well. There could have been some ethical conflicts in his life but if he has kids, I bet they love him. It’s not in the tradtional form as I got it straight from the coke global website, but check it out. Almost as entertaining as watching my concrete lawn grow.E. Neville Isdell,

I’m an accountant, I studied commerce. I’m an architect, I studied architecture. I’m an …… I studied arts. Oh the pain of an arts (humanities) student in an age where education is becoming more geared towards a job. What do we do after three years at uni? The list of occupations in the handbook is a mile long! But nothing seems to fit! How will my minor in history help me get a job at BP? Or any other major company that offers graduate positions? Let’s find out. We’ll try to sus out all the grad opportunities you can apply for with little less than an arts degree. And some more. Look out for people who’ve made it big with the olde B.A. too.
